2011.03.14 My Evening

I had a busy day at work as per usual, and my legs seem to have been playing up even more than they have been.  I am still waiting for an expedited appointment to go back to see my Consultant, but so far that has not materialised.  We will have to wait and see what happens.  This evening I haven't done too much as I was tired and I am an eternal dreamer. Sometimes you just need space to just be and come too gradually.  Very gradually. I have been horrified by the reports of what has happened in Japan and my heart, thoughts and prayers go out to the Japanese people at this most terrible of times.  Kinda puts everything else into perspective. I have spoken to OH's sister on the phone this evening and played catch up.  Chrissy like me is animal mad and any animal becomes part of the family.  She has two King Charles Spaniels Alfie and Lotty and also two cats, Mr Willis and Maddy.  Since we last went to stay Mr Willis has developed a new trick....

Lighter Days and Evenings

It has been lovely to have a nice day even if it has been slightly chilly on the breeze and when out of the sunlight. It is so cheery to have the sun shine and smile on us all pottering about beavering away going about our daily business like ants swarming all over. In fact I think the sap is beginning to rise at the promise of brighter cheerier days and warmer weather. I can certainly feel change in the air.  I do so hope that the weather is going to be warmer and milder from hereon in so I can get into the garden and start doing what I need to do there. It's a mess not having been touched during these colder months despite my best intentions and since the plumber has been in and decimated what little bit of planting I did have - he has murdered my herb bed I am going to have to start again.   I hope it is a better weekend this coming weekend so I can get out and start to do a bit and also get some of my seeds sown.  I find gardening very soothing, like balm to the...

2011.03.13 My Day

Its been a quiet day today.  I didn't get up very early and had a little bit of  a lay in for a change - well it was 1 a.m when I got to bed this morning.  Yesterday I tried to line dry the washing, but it didn't dry despite being relatively nice outside and I ended up finishing it in the tumble drier.  Give it a few more weeks and we should be okay.  It was bitterly cold again last night. I had been meaning to sort some photographs out for a post I started a little while ago, so I was partially successful in that, but others will have to wait for a further day as I couldn't find what I was looking for- I know they are there somewhere.   I have done some knitting too. I am part way up one of the two further knitted squares I have to do for my blanket.  I really do want to get this one out of the way with so that I can use what wool is left over on my Rainbow blanket, then I can see exactly what wool I have to play with.  My blankets and thr...

WIP (Work in Progress)

Image
Here is just some of the crotchet/knitting work that I have on the go.  This precludes the needlepoint/tapestry, cross stitch and embroidery work on the go.  Hopefully I will be able to start wading my way through each project in the coming months  and either complete them one at a time or do a goodly amount of work to get it nearer to completion.  I really need to get quite a bit of this work concluded as I want to free up some items so that I can in due turn start a new project I have in mind or alternatively finish off some of the other projects These finished projects will then be ready for use. I am a bit of a butterfly and soon get distracted especially with some of the larger projects then I have sessions of completing things.  Its time dependent a lot of it.  Sometimes I only have a little time so work a smaller project as it will get done in the time that I have, but I do like to be doing something even though some of these projects can take quite...

2011.03.11 My Day Part 2

Morning eveveryone.  This post is slightly different in that I am reporting on a lovely evening last night but also plugging some very deserving local charities which all play a special part in everyday living in their own way.  If you are local and are able to support them please do. Well I had a lovely evening last night at the Park Hotel supporting my friend, Teacher and Medium Jacqueline Lesley in an evening of mediumship in support of The Phoenix Special School, Cherry Lodge Respite Care and Corpol.  Support systems for children who through no fault of their own need very special care, but who give so much in return.  Please see Lisa Schwarz's website for details of events she runs throughout the year. http://www.spencershairsalon.com/80430/info.php?p=1   including a ball.   This year's ball is Spencers Fire and Ice Ball there are details on her website. Where Lisa finds the energy I do not know as she also runs her own very busy hairdressing s...

2011.03.11 My Day thus far

I booked today as holiday earlier in the week mainly for the puropse of going to the Crematorium at Cambridge.  Its been a mixed day emotionally, sadness mainly. Today has been the day where I said goodbye to my  dear friend Joe who died unexpectedly a fortnight ago.  Sad for us those of us who are left  behind that is.  We shall miss him  dreadfully as he had such a zest for life and quite bluntly was always on the go and never ever in.  Four of us friends travelled to Cambridge Crematorium to say cheerio to him.  No flowers at the request of his step-family but any donations going to the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association a worthy cause. I am now at home having had something to eat and am just relaxing as I am out again this evening to an Evening of Mediumship by my friend and Teacher Jacqueline Lesley at the Park Hotel in Peterborough.  It should be a very good night and I am looking forward to it.  It will be good to be out and ab...

2011.03.07 My Day

Its been a busy day but that is par for the course.   But the weather has been nice althuough a little chilly, but it really has felt as if Spring has arrived. Even OH remarked that he thought that the nicer weather was on its way.  Famous last words.   I Had a trawl up town during my dinner hour and found a book offer on 3 books for £5.00.  Its a while since I sat down and had a real good read and so I decided to treat myself. The three books I have chosen are all by the same author an Elizabeth Chadwick - who I haven't come across before and they are all historically based.  The total of the books if I had paid full price would have been roughly £25 (£7.99 x 2 and £8.99). Not one to judge a book by its cover  (excuse the pun) but being one to read the back cover first these took my interest.  They are: A place beyond courage The Wild Hunt And Daughters of the Grail I bought all three from The Works (also known as Remainders) shop ...
