Its the little things...

That make all the difference and often give the most pleasure. Since having a session re-pairing hair slides and pieces of jewellery the other week I have been rootling round the Internet for new posts for ear-rings and new barrette clips both items needed to repair a few items that are still basically okay apart from broken clips or posts; and I must say I have a lot of expensive ear-rings which although old and well worn where the posts have broken off but that where the ear-ring part is okay - so salvageable.  I have managed to find the items I want and an order has been put together and sent off so that said items can be fixed and put back into use again.  That makes me feel good as I am not wasting things just for the sake of a little tlc and time. These are the hair clips where I re-glued the damaged bits  or bits that had fallen off and made them useable again. I have also a pattern for making some scrunchies and a rag bag, which I intend to hit and ...

To Dream or Not to Dream

I know I am a bit of a dreamer at the best of times, but you need to dream to start ideas which latterly move on to actually creating and bringing something to life a birthing procedure.  To dream of doing something then taking little steps to actually bring something into fruition now that gives me so much pleasure.   I am sorry I have been absent for a while but I have been playing more than a little bit. It all started with having a go at things I had never tried before - like making some earrings, making a necklace.  Its sort of sparked my creativity a little and given me a little boost as some of the items I have had a go at have turned out quite well and I am chuffed to little bits with them. Redeveloping an interest in nice clothes  and getting the itch to get the sewing machine out and making some skirts and pairs of trousers in fabrics of my choosing.  Also falling in love and liking a lot of lovely accessories only to find they cost an ar...

Happy Birthday to Me

Image
Its my birthday today and it has been gloriously sunny and warm here in Peterborough and I have been at work all day.  Everyone should get their birthday off  you should not have to work it.  However if I had of booked the day off it would have rained down all day.  It has however not been too bad a day - I have had a scuttle full of birthday cards, and some lovely presents and lots of messages on Facebook and emails  from family and friends.  I had a lovely walk into work this morning in bright sunshine and the cherry blossom is out in full force.  I pass three trees on the way there and until three days ago there was not a flower to be seen tight buds yes and in the past couple of days it has come out in force with large sprays of the lovely pink blossoms and reminded me of the piece of music Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White.  The Cherry Tree in the garden is also in full  of wonderful white blossoms.  I am hoping I get to the ...

Armed and Dangerous

Do not panic just me and the glue gun. (Well maybe you should panic me and glue not a good combination!).  Fortunately on this occasion no accidents, no spills - which makes a change. I have long hair which I tend to wear for the best part up in a twist - I cannot cope with headphones, computer chip fob, glasses  getting all taffled up with my long hair so up it has to go on a daily basis.  Why not have it cut - because each time I do I want it long again.  So that is kind of a no no at the moment.  And besides I have lots of pretty and lovely hair clips slides, ruffles etc and they would only go to waste so long it is for the time being. I have had a couple of accidents recently with hair slides and clips where they have sadly fallen apart through wear and tear and I had stockpiled them in a box waiting for a moment where I would be able to sit and play (once I had located the glue gun).  That happened Sunday afternoon just gone.  Some of the slid...

The Sun Has got his hat on

Hip, Hip, Hip Hooray the Sun has got his hat on and is coming out to play.   Or in the words of another song Oh what a beautiful morning oh what a beautiful day. The sun the feel good factor in every day. The return of the sun after so many months without is delightful and heart warming rays. How wonderful. Madam Sun has been out in all her glory since 6:30 am (well that was the time I woke up) glaring through my bedroom blinds lighting up any corner of darkness and it was warm and snug in my bed.  What a shock when I have come down to sort out OHs pack up and feed and let the cats out.  We have had a thick white frost  and when I trotted out in my dressing gown as we had a conclave of moggies swearing at each other on the bottom fence I came in pretty rapidly after disbursing the rabble.  Although being chilly at least the sun is out which is a blessing in itself.  It breathes in new hope new situations and the promise of growth.   ...

Catch up

Last night I went to my friends home for the evening;  together with a bunch of other girlie's for a general chat and catch up.  It was a very good evening until news of the bombings popped up on one of our numbers eye phone.  Such a waste such destruction;  On the way out we had been warned by our hostess to take care as the frogs were mating and that she had an accident the night before with one.  I therefore walked in front of our car, moving off the entwined frogs out of the way of the car and making sure each of them remained safe.  The last one was a triple Decker.  I could not handle them but was moving them on a piece of card to safety.  Needless to say my compatriots had a good laugh at my performance, but then no frogs were harmed which is the main thing. Today I caught the bus and went to the next village up from my mum and walked all the way through to her.  When I got there poor mum was unwell and was waiting for the Doctor ...
