Lovely Afternoon

I met my friend for lunch and we have had a lovely afternoon together. L is actually the friend that introduced OH and I on a blind date.  I did however insist that they came with us the first time after which we were left to our own devices.

We have known each other for 30 years initially meeting at work and then going our different ways.  Life does that but it has also bought us together again.

She is a warts n all friend one who is not judgmental and loves you for yourself.  Being round warts n all friends is very soothing because you can just be yourself and it is all very relaxing.

I am slowly leading her astray.  I dragged her to the market today to look at some Christmas fabric and I think she may be going back as she has it in her head to make some Christmas bunting for her front room.  I have some ideas for her and another friend both of whom have proper fires in their homes i.e. some fire starters and also some pine cone garlands for starters and also some Cinnamon star decorations.  Fingers crossed I will be able to achieve these.

I did not manage to get the work that I needed doing done as I ended up spending longer in town than I had anticipated - but still it has been a lovely afternoon.  Nice to window shop as well and see what there is without the necessity to spend.  She has said that she loves it because I come up with all sorts of ideas with different things and I think I am slowly encouraging her to get back into the world of crafting.

Whilst out we had a good look at all the specialist sweeties, cookies etc that they had in stock for Christmas.  I gave her my idea about the jars of sweets i.e. make them yourself rather than pay through the nose for them and she totally took my point. There were also some lovely gingerbread cookies and lots of sweets suitable for the Christmas stocking.

I did see a couple of lovely jumpers that I have my eye on will have to see whether I am lucky enough to receive any from Father Christmas!  One was a Rowan one in red and cream to knit and the others were a red and cream Fair Isle high necked jumper and a plain red roll neck jumper.  Very traditional  Now am I on the Naughty or Nice List!

I seem to be starting another cold!  Hoping to steer it off at the pass!  Courtesy of OH.

We have had a simple tea tonight baked beans on toast and it has gone down very well.  We like simple here.

Its a bit cold again outside so I hope it does not get too much colder overnight.

Right am off to settle down.

Catch you sometime tomorrow.
