Home made Lasagna

As we speak there is bubbling away in the frying pan a combination of chopped onion, some mince, a little beef stock and a couple of cans of plum tomatoes which have been chopped up in the processor and a little white pepper.  Things are starting to smell good and making my taste buds water.

We have just had a taste test and things are where we want them to be.  Now it is time to let the mixture cool a little before starting to layer up the dish for our Lasagna tea. The white sauce is already made and lots of cheddar cheese has been grated.

Very much looking forward to this for our tea tonight instead of a Sunday roast.  Will make a lovely change.

For starters though we have prawn cocktail with home made Marie sauce and mixed lettuce leaves.

If we are still hungry after this lot I might make a couple of pancakes each.

It has been cold here and is wet and drizzly and oh so damp.  Good food warms you up from the inside when its cold.

Very much looking forward to eating tonight.

Catch you soon.

  1. Your dinner sounds tasty. We fancied something different this weekend so I postponed our Burns Supper until this lunchtime. Very traditional, haggis, needs and tat ties with a Drambuie cream sauce. I will use the leftover haggis with rice to stuff peppers with tomato sauce tomorrow. Waste not want not!

  2. Hi Catherine, dinner was very tasty two days on the trot. Comfort food nice hot tasty Lasagna served with bread and butter. We dunk it in the sauce. We like Haggis here too as well. My much loved and now deceased sister-in-law moved to Scotland and we went to stay with her where she introduced us to many of the local specialities. We were decidedly hooked. Take care Tricia x
