In the Middle of a Thunder storm
Today has not gone according to plan.
As I type this we are in the middle of another Thunder storm. I am not a friend of them. Not enamoured at all and it is lashing down with rain, heavy rain that will do some good.
Today started with me being in the garden to carry on from where I left off yesterday. I started off by lugging about eight bags of rubbish into the front garden which is nearly full of rubbish. We will have to go to the tip at some point. I had hoped that today was going to be like yesterday on the weather front, however in reality, we hade had far more rain and fewer short showers that I have been able to nip out inbetween and do a little bit more.
I managed to dig one strip of garden today, before going in and I have been doing some housework instead. There is always something to do here. I am hoping that I will be able to get out again tomorrow to set about the digging again. Must say it was hard going this morning and I only dug one narrow strip and ended up with a bin liner of roots and weeds including bindweed. I did get my Strawberry and Cream Honeysuckle and Clematis sorted out as well. They are both in planters.
Not a successful day therefore on the old gardening front but these things happen. It is just the depth that varies. Hopefully will have better luck tomorrow. You win some and you lose some.
Had a lovely ham and pork pie tea with lots of salad this evening. Sadly no photos as I forgot to take any, but very tasty all the same. We also had cheese and a half an apple each as well. I find that an apple cuts the cheese nicely and it is something we have a lot of here. I have plenty of salad stuff for another meal a little later in the week.
I am nearly at the end of this post and it is still thundering and lightning and peeing it down with rain. I am a little more than stiff today because of all the efforts of the past few days and so I am going to sit and potter a little bit. I found some of my old gardening magazines the other day and so I am going to have a look through to see if anything will be of use in my humble efforts in growing some food for us during the coming months.
Have a good evening everyone.
Catch you soon.
