Ulterior Motives

You would think that when you are shopping amongst the food isles that  you will not come to any harm.  Believe you me, you are not as safe as you think you are, or at least I am not.  I am always full of ideas and am doing my best to breathe life into these ideas and things.  Therefore it is quite normal for me to spot a different shaped bottle and think Ah, I know what I am going to use that for!  One then comes home with a bottle of Mateus Rose Wine with the view of later in the year turning this lovely shaped bottle into a useful display piece for a bottle of homemade liqueur.  Just how my mind runs on any one day. Totally and utterly distracted at the best of times.

Or when you go shopping and are doing a mental check list of what is or is not available at home.  G is partial to pickles (unsweetened ones) he eats them like sweeties.  Mental check list went into overdrive during the week and I brought home a couple of jars of what I thought were Dill pickles.  In fairness I could not see an English translation on the bottle and because I liked the bottles, a couple of jars came home with me.  Trouble was they were not Dill pickles.  We think that they were Fermented Pickles they were in a salt brine and the liquid was cloudy. G struggled with them and give him his due went through two jars but did sort of say - no more as he was not really keen on them.  The jars were lovely though!  I have since found a suitable substitute, not as nice a jar, but still very useful and will be ideal for making some home made French Onion Soup  using these for the Pantry shelf.  There is always a method in my madness.

There are lots of things going on here at the moment as usual and lots of creative ideas springing forth.  However for the time being until I get what I am trying to do moved forward a fair bit, I have made notes and will re-visit them.  It involves me learning something new which I have never done before so I will need time to focus on it, in its own right.  So best on the shelf at the moment, although needless to say I do have some of the equipment that I have gathered on my travels already to hand so that should help.  So no major outlay required which is always a positive.

Going to have a busy day tomorrow in the kitchen, dining room and bathroom.  Will be doing a bit in each room, although ostensibly it will mainly be the kitchen.  Thank goodness all the boxes have arrived thus far.  Now see how long it will take me to fill them.

Keep warm, keep safe wherever you are.

Catch you soon.
