Up bright and early
except..... not a sign of the sun just grey mist. Ah well cannot have it all. Temperature is a bit colder as well and as it is a bit nippy heating has been upped. Currently enjoying my first cuppa of the day. No breakfast yet, that will come later, just taking some time to actually come too for a change. For once not too many disturbances over night so not too bad a night's sleep overall.
Another busy day is envisaged in the kitchen. Not much accomplished yesterday but there we are sometimes that is how the cookie crumbles as the saying goes. Will just have to keep at it. However I do envisage a heavy duty work day today clearing the kitchen and getting the new boxes into the dining room for the time being. Then I can start curating one of the boxes to hold my baking tins in for going on top of the freezer out of the way. At least they will be safe and neatly packed away to be retrieved easily as needed. I had an extra cupboard full of tins, however due to purchasing the Magimix needed somewhere for all the accessories to be easily stored to make it easier to use so the cupboard was re-utilised.
Washing machine is on as we speak, the first of a few washes for the day. Hot sweet tea being imbibed by me to launch my day. Breakfast will happen a bit later once I have cleared a bit more. No doubt G will go back to sleep along with Missy and Mischief it is alright for some however I need to get on today as I have an extremely busy couple of weeks ahead on the house front and I want the new flooring for the kitchen and the bathroom to happen sometime this week. That will make my life easier in the longer term. Need to go to B & Q to see what delights they have on several fronts. I also need to go to Hobbycraft to pick up a couple of wooden boxes for my seeds. The box they are in is getting a bit frail and I think they would be better off stored in a far sturdier box or two, especially as I am going to be gardening this year and it will be good to have them all in one place. I also need to go to Dunhelm as well. Have just written a long list of the items am going to need and where to obtain from. An aide memoire so that I can keep track of what is needed.
I had a foray into the garden the other day - I have a few old crocks that are no longer suitable for storing food in, but they will be ideal for popping a few plants into and giving different heights to planters. Going forward I hope to do a bit at a time in tidying up the garden a bit as well. Even if it is only half an hour to an hour a day doing a little bit here and there it will be better than nothing and also give me some fresh air and get me moving about a bit.
Right I had better get a wriggle on.
Catch up later on.
Have a good day.

Hope you got a lot accomplished. I was up early - made a quick cooked breakfast and then off to church - I was looking after the guest minister today so wanted to get there early. All went well, had a coffee and a chat with a few folks afterwards and stopped at a grocery store on the way home that had a good deal on some fruit & veg this week.
ReplyDeleteGot in my daily walk through the underground path system so didn't have to worry too much about the Polar Vortex which has arrived with a vengeance! I have since made a big pot of curried chicken soup and a large batch of tuna salad so I will have some easy meals this week. I just have to package up some of the chili that I made earlier this week and get it into the freezer. I will have one more cup of tea before bed and enjoy the football (American style) match that is about to start. And I am very thankful that I can watch it on TV rather than being in the bitterly cold stadium - it is currently Minus 7C with a strong wind and snow falling and it will get even colder as the evening goes on! Stay warm
