Bottoming Out has Commenced
In the back bedroom. I got rid of the little bedside table, a drop leaf fires-creen/table, loads of odds and ends and three carrier bags full of books. There will be more to go but I have made some space. I got to the wardrobe with the books but due to lack of space and the fact that I need to go through the books in some detail I have not touched them. I have managed to clear some space down the side of the wardrobe so items can eventually be tidied in. I am slowly starting to be able to access where I did do a load of tidying up a couple of years ago. So on the packing away not much achieved today but a lot of rubbish and items I no longer want have been removed. I am hopeful that I will soon be able to really get stuck in and get things packed properly and items out of other rooms into here as well.
G has been warned that the house is in more of an uproar than usual and been warned not to moan. It is a necessary step in order that I can get stuff that I want to keep packed away. I did quite a big bottom out a couple or more years ago and packed everything away tidily. However, G when he is clearing stuff just shoves stuff on top of other stuff and then I cannot locate it. Hopefully this is the start of being able to get a big problem organised if not completely sorted. I have found a few more lovely things as I always do when I go sorting out.
I do have to have a UFO tub though. Found no end of UFOs! I shall never go to heaven.
I had hoped to have an hour or so in the garden this evening in any event to pot on some plants before coming back into the back bedroom and doing a little more. However in real time I decided to carry on with the back bedroom. Have managed to remove a lot of rubbish including old collapsed boxes and old computer boxes and tv boxes which had been kept in case the items needed to go back. As we have had them over a year now, and I really do not have the room, I decided they could go, along with some other items. Let us just say that the front garden is absolutely full again, and I have only just started.
May have to revise the planned schedule for this week in any event as we have the Bay tree to finish tomorrow, the Cotoneaster and the Privet Hedge as well as a few trips down to the Tip. I can see this will be a regular event going to the Tip for the foreseeable until I can get this house well and truly cleared. Fingers crossed and toes plaited.
It has been hot and muggy here for the best part of the day although we had an unexpected rain shower first thing this morning. I did not set too straight away with working in the back bedroom. I had some time for me. I found that the C J Sansom Shardlake books have been turned into a series by Disney called Shardlake. I think it is on ITV1 for a four week period but for those of you who are interested it is currently on ITVX where all four episodes are available to view. It is a bit slow going to start with, I think because there is so much detail to take into account but I really enjoyed it. I have the Lamentations book to read. I have ended up reading some of them out of sequence simply because some of the books were purchased from charity shops so I read what I bought in effect. I quite love this type of book.
Right am off to continue in the back bedroom. I have about had enough but have a little more clearing to do before I call it a night. Needless to say no crafting being done at the moment. Hopefully that can be rectified soon.
Have a lovely evening everyone.
Catch you soon.

I have also read the Shardlake books in the wrong order! I didn't enjoy the first episode of the tv series, but I have watched another couple of the episodes and found that it really grew on me. Just one more episode to go, so that is my evening's entertainment sorted.
ReplyDeleteIt suddenly dawned on me last night that Guy the monk is the character known as Guy of Malton in the books. Malton is my nearest town and I often think of the character when I go past the old priory church, which must be a bit of a testament to how convincing the characters are.
