Disaster Zone
The house and garden that is beware Minefields, Pirates, Dragons, Howling Jack Russells, Pussy Cats and Pit Holes! Well in for a penny and in for a pound.
Tuesday Night
I did not finish very early last night I was still working gone 10:00pm. Sorting paperwork, sorting rubbish, gradually getting stuff dealt with. Getting stuff off the bed and into the back bedroom for the time being out of the way so that we can get through and I can then return probably tomorrow evening (Wednesday) and do a bit more
All at sixes and sevens but things are being done. Intend to have another early start tomorrow morning i.e. Thursday morning as I have for the past couple of days. Intend to get some of this potting up out of the way with. I have also found another carrier bag of seeds. Flower seeds, not sure all are viable but there is only one way to see and that is to plant some. I suspect this is not the last lot of seeds I will come across. I know I had a lot more veggie seeds as I bought them new but they disappeared off the face of the earth. I must say that it does feel cathartic and am pleased with what I moved on yesterday.
Wednesday
Outline Plans:
Starting with dealing with the rest of the Bay tree, give it a haircut, sweep up the excess leaves in the back garden.
In the front garden, the Cotoneaster needs a haircut as does the Privet. All the rubbish needs taking to the Tip. I suspect that we will do the cutting of the plants first and then bag up and then take all of it down to the Tip.
I intend to then be in the garden for the rest of the day dealing with the Potting up and putting plants out into the garden (ones in Plant pots that have come on a treat) so that I have more room for my new plants in pots. There is an awful lot to do. One more reason for an early start.
Did you see the Strawberry Moon last night, large silver disc hanging low in the sky tinged pink. Lady Moon looked magnificent. When I went out to see if I could see her she was perfectly aligned up with the road that goes near enough into the City Precincts proper. My phone camera although good does not seem to be good with moon shots, so I just admired her and watched her for a while. When I went to bed I could see her just before I went to sleep. Might try and put my crystals on the windowsill this evening for cleansing. You should be able to see her again tonight. Bet she looked magnificent down in Cornwall over Marazion where you get the reflection off the water as well. Hopefully will get down to Cornwall for the autumn months when everyone goes back to work although I would love to live there all the time. Calls to my soul.
What actually happened:
Wednesday came in very warm with the Sun shining. Was up by 8:30am. Not as early as the past few days a little lay in after yesterday's efforts. Opened up the greenhouses, checked the laundry had left overnight and brought it in. Came in and cooked G his breakfast, and Mischief her breakfast. Then upwards and onwards. Missy will have hers when she wakes up as I hand feed her.
We started on the remnants of the Bay tree. Went to next doors chopped it down, cleared it all up and swept the pavement to leave it tidy.
Then went into the front garden. G tackled the rest of the Privet, I cleared up behind him and bagged everything up. Then he started on the Cotoneaster and the Holly. They are now neatly trimmed back. I cleared up again. I also swept in front of the house and our pavement and also the passageway and cleared all that so it looks much tidier. It was cooler when we started this but got hotter as went on. Because of that I think the Tip run may well be on Friday now. G has some private matters to deal with tomorrow afternoon. Always having to pivot here. There is a lot of rubbish. Oh well will give me an opportunity to add more rubbish to the pile.
It is now 12:15pm. I have just finished the front garden as much as I can at the moment. Came in for a glass of water as very dry. Just sat down for a few minutes to catch my breath. G has nodded off and Missy is out for the count still as is Mischief.
I am now in the garden for this afternoon potting on plants and getting the garden a bit tidier and maybe some seed sowing as well. Will see what happens.
I have had the washing machine on as well.
I plan to be in the back bedroom this evening tidying and moving stuff around as much as I possibly can. Depends on how I get on in the garden, otherwise it might have to wait until tomorrow. Now I have the Bit between my teeth I intend to move on as best as I can in all areas. Trying to make the most of the time that I have had.
I also plan to tackle my hair this week, probably when the bulk of the gardening is concluded and then it can be washed and conditioned. Since Men of Wars, my hair has not been like it used to be. Need to do a little bit of self-care me thinks. Am not very good at that.
Desperately trying to make the most of what time I actually have this year and the lighter nights to try and get the house in a lot better order than it has been. Because of growing the veg that means a later holiday down to Cornwall am going to have to work this out a bit better overall. Will see how things go. Also planning forward as there are things I would like to do achieve and it means getting my "Ducks in a line" so that can happen.
Have bottomed out the Pepper and Cucumber greenhouse and got all the plants in pots my herbs etc. out into the garden which has freed up more room. Now the re-potting begins in earnest. I have stripped the slabbed area on the floor out of all plants and am as I said now re-potting everything that needs to go in there. I have taken the made up framing at the end as it was collapsing to accommodate more pots etc. So will see how it goes.
All the Courgettes have been re-potted and a load of other plants. They are now outside. I think I may have killed my Cucumber though. Not a happy bunny. Will have another look at it tomorrow.
All the Herb plants are now outside in their pots. I am keeping them in their pots for the time being. I did check to see if they needed any more water this evening, but they did not.
More potting up to do tomorrow. I am waiting for another delivery of plants.
I still have the Tomato house to sort out think that will be for tomorrow.
I have mucky hands and have been playing mud pies in order to pot on plants as my compost was too dry. Under finger nails am going to have to take a nail brush to them later on.
Tea tonight was some fried haddock for G and some smoked haddock for me with a poached egg. Both of us has bread and butter. G got his at 9:00pm I got mine at 10:00pm as I was still doing stuff outside.
I have used up all the old compost that I put through the riddle so at some point tomorrow am going to have to riddle some more as this is needed for some more plants which are to be potted on tomorrow.
I also plan on tackling some flower planters tomorrow and also some hanging baskets. Will see where it takes us using only what I have. Sweet Peas, Nasturtiums, Trailing Petunias, Tagetes, Two types of trailing Fuschia and some Lobelia. May go and get some Geraniums as well. So a lot to do on the morrow.
Have a lovely evening.
Going out to see if I can see the Moon again.
Catch you soon.
