Low Key Day - Christmas Decorations - Part Three
Now the day is over time to recount some of my little travels for today. It is currently chucking it down with rain quite heavily as I let my hands clatter across the keyboard, letting the words flow from my head to my fingers.
Today I managed to venture out of the house properly, as for the last two days or so I have been confined to barracks with the "Lurgey". Starting to feel a bit more comfortable now. Severe head cold which has subsequently landed on my chest. However, I am a lot comfier than I have been and slowly starting to get better. As a result I have just gone with the flow. Today however, I was starting to go "stir crazy".
The other day, I bought some wooden Christmas tree decorations to make up and needed to take them back as there was a wrong piece in the pack. There should have been four different pieces and there were three different ones with the fourth being the same as one of the previous three. In my infinite wisdom I decided today was the day that I would venture out to do this. When I go to The Works shop in Peterborough the Works staff were very efficient and helpful with replacing said trees. I am now one happy bunny. These trees are really lovely for £3. However as you do or as I do, after getting the correct pieces to building up the tree, (I checked the boxes), I decided to have a browse along the shelf. Found a couple of more trees for the same price of £3 each; these ones are different with only one being in the box and a totally different design. I have also bought two of these home as well. I am going to have a forest by the time I have finished. However they also had lots of little kits available which I am sure the Littlies would love doing (or the larger Littlies)!
They also still had the "foliage picks" in the shop and I bought eight of these and two Red Poinsettia ones as well as I am going to pop some of these on the two square candle holders I have now bought which will go on one of the Dressers.
I also nipped into B & M and managed to get two more of the plain wooden bead garlands. I bought two the other day. I did have a quick look around but for today did not see any more decorations that were pleading to come home with me. I was good there.
Then on to Sostrene Grene. I had mentioned the other day that I would probably go and get another one of the square candle holders - yes one of these came home with me including four candles.
I also came back with two books of what is called Origami paper for crafting with. All Christmas designs and I intend to make some of the paper Stars which I am totally in love with. With this book of Sostrene Grene Christmas designed papers as the books are small it will only be smaller Stars made to be hung off the tree or off of garlands or indeed other smaller paper ornaments. I am looking forward to the playing as much as anything else. I totally love to craft and play when I can.
I have also purchased two small Christmas Pudding paper garlands for the Dining room as well.
Two cookie stamps have also made it home a Fir tree and a holly design. There was also a decorated (small Stars) Brayer (rolling pin with a handle like a decorators roller but with a harder rubberised surface) for use in cookie making or rolling pastry which also came home.
I also purchased a green ink stamp pad and a red ink stamp pad for use in some of my paper crafting. I have a whopping big box of stamps plus cutters for various different images and designs. I may have to go to Hobbycraft to see what they have as a lot of my original ink stamp pads have gone a little dry.
Two bottles of pale green acrylic paint have also made it here for a clothes peg project.
I have very much been topping up on a lot of items for Christmas crafting and crafting throughout next year.
To finish off thought I would share the link to the latest offering by the Florin Street Band entitled "Wonderful Things". Seemed appropriate really as I have been talking about crafting and this is a wonderful video and lovely song to celebrate the season.
