Books, Books and Books
One of my main weaknesses in life is books, proper books that you can flick the pages on, browse, skip through which keep you thoroughly entertained hour upon hour. A kindle just does not cut it for me I am afraid. I have tried but it just annoys me to death. Whereas I can curl up with a book and just lose myself for many an hour.
I have wish lists on The Book People and Amazon. However I do not always buy knew books and I look around for the best price I can. I quite regularly use Abebooks as well. If I can pick up a book for a fraction of the price then as long as it is in reasonable condition then I do so. So far all the books that I have bought this way have been in excellent condition.
One has turned up this morning. "Prepped" by Vanessa Kimbell. I bought it for 1 pence plus £2.80 p & p. This is a book that was on my Amazon Wish List but had been priced at about £18. It has been on the Wish List for a little time. I love and use my books a lot and this one is a beautiful book and I am very taken with it. Beautiful pictures and lovely recipes. A slightly different take on a recipe book but it is built around a busy person's time table and just goes to prove you can have a busy life style and still have great food. Nothing is impossible. It is built around specific ingredients but has some delightful recipes.
The colour plate for Lavender Sugar instructions just to show you how beautiful the colour plates in this book are.
I made Lavender Sugar for the first time last year now I have recipes for making the Lavender Sugar, Baked Goats Cheese and Lavender honey toasts, Lavender Lemonade, Lavender chicken,Lavender salmon, Lavender Bread, Boozy Strawberries, Lavender Shortbread, Chocolate Cupcakes with Lavender Cream, Lavender and Lemon cake.
