That C Word
Has reared its ugly head! I was in Waitrose yesterday and browsing the magazines and Good Housekeeping have their Christmas magazine out! Lovely magazine and some lovely home made liqueur type drinks including Marmalade and Bay Gin, Merry Berry Liqueur, Mulled Gin, Limoncello, Advocaat, Sloe Gin, Christmas pudding liqueur, Mulled Wine, Pink Gin.
There is also a Make ahead Foodie Gift section with Lemon and Fennel Oil, Raspberry vinegar, Oregano and Chilli salt, Flavoured sugars a shortbread recipe for using the flavoured sugars, Plum Cheese, together with a month by month countdown of things that you can put up and freeze for the big day.
There are also planning lists for Christmas and food which I may well take advantage of.
A make ahead preserves section (you all knew that would get my attention) with recipes for spiced pear and fig chutney, clementine and cranberry chutney (both sound lush), Blackberry and Apple Jam, Pickled Pink Shallots, Pickled Red Cabbage.
Some nice ideas in there, and tutorials and planner saying make this, one month and something else another so that it is all prepared in advance of the C word and there will be no last minute panics. Just thought I would say and let you all know.
Catch you soon.
