What a lovely morning
Managed to get up early. Went to the Bakery and loaded up with buns and cake plus two bacon butties with coffee to go before heading out into the Fens South of Peterborough. The remnant so mist were still hanging lightly, but the glow of the warming sunlight highlighting each field and then the "windmills" which were not working looking ethereal glazed in mist.
Nice drive out to see the fish man at Ramsey. Came back with our usual fish order of crabs, crevettes, crayfish, cockles and we have fresh mussels for tea tonight. A real treat.
Called in to Harvest Barn on the way home. Got a couple of chickens (one for us and one for daughter), and some other bits and bobs to put up for the Christmas pantry, which includes and orange cordial, some Wherrymans Sauce and a bottle of Dandelion and Burdock cordial. Also a couple of bags of mixed fruit which were very reasonably priced and will be very useful in cooking and preserving.
Called into daughter's on the way home and spent about an hour with them catching up. Nice to see the kidlets and nice to see daughter happy. A good visit.
Back home now. I have lots to do not quite sure where to start but might go out into the garden as the sun is out and it is warmer than it was first thing. Have some sorting out to do everywhere.
Also need to go to the veg shop.
With a bit of luck might get to do some more preserving this evening. Not sure what yet will see what the veg shop throws up. Need a sack of spuds if I can get them and a tray of eggs.
So now to work we go.
Will try and get back later.
