Cold and Quiet

It has been another cold day and I think is meant to be colder tonight.  Today I have not cooked but have been pottering doing housework, just little bits here and there, jobs that need to be sorted before I go headlong into a project.  All of it plays a miniscule part of the whole as they say and a necessary and useful part of the whole organisation.

I have also started on the laundry pile and have got the washing machine and the tumble drier in full swing.  These cold days are not conducive to getting washing dried outside. Therefore to my mind the tumble drier is a necessary part of winter housekeeping.  If I only had a Rayburn or an Aga with a clothes airer over that would really help.  I only put full loads on in the tumble drier or sometimes hang stuff on coat hangers in the house to get it dried.  Fortunately my tumble drier is a more up to date one and has several eco features on it but even so I am careful how I use it.  One of the other reasons I tend to use it (it is a condenser version) is because damp clothes hanging round the house do not do my arthritis any good, but if I have to I have to.

So after the festive season and New Year it is back to the grind as they say.

After not cooking today, I am hoping to get stuck in a bit tomorrow and use up some bits that I have found in the fridge, which includes some lemons, some oranges, some carrots and Bananas.  Not sure yet what will make.  Will have to get my thinking cap on overnight.  I am not going to waste anything though if I can help it.

I will need to get some milk for tomorrow though as I need to make a fresh batch of natural yogurt to have to use as an ingredient in cooking as well as for breakfast and dips and baking.

I notice that BBC2 has a new series of Rick Stein's Cornwall which I managed to see this evening although it would appear I have missed a couple of episodes so will have to see if can catch up with those.  Programme starts at 6:30pm.  I particularly enjoyed the first series of this and am pleased that they have carried it on.  Thoroughly enjoyed it.  Timer set for tomorrow evening too.

Short and sweet tonight I am afraid.  Let us see what tomorrow brings forth.  Wherever you are I wish you a happy day for tomorrow.

Catch you soon.
