Sunday
Nothing much happening here today. Quite chilled out. Weather gorgeous and I have been busy lugging all the rubbish out of the back garden into the front garden. We only have a smallish front garden and it is nearly covered in bags. Needless to say that it is a job well done.
It is a bit warm for me out there at the moment (from one extreme to another) but I intend to go out again in a little while and sort some more of the pots out and get some of their contents which are very dead! I also have to sort out in front of the garden shed. I intend setting about the garden shed as well. We do not know what is in there at the moment. I suspect it needs more than a good old bottom out. I can then get some of our remaining tools installed within once all cleaned out. There will be another tip visit later in the week in any event, and maybe two more on top of that. It is an ongoing situation until it is all cleared.
Where the shed is leads up to the herb garden and the corner where the two meet has weeds grown up between the cracks. That has all got to be swept down, then washed with some mild bleach. Will leave to dry and then spray a little weed killer just on the cracks and the edges of the concrete pavement. I just cannot get the weeds and in some cases brambles out otherwise. Hopefully in a day or two the Herb garden will also be completely sorted out (once the shed has been sorted) and things like the cat carriers and some other items are put away. I can then start getting some herbs (other than the ones I have set from seed) into the herb garden and get it planted up. The grape vine is starting to put on a lot of growth and this year I intend to take several cuttings to try and grow some further plants to pop elsewhere in the garden. I did have look at Morrisons' plants yesterday and they seemed to have some good offers on especially with Fuschia and fruit bushes and some climbing plants such as honeysuckle, clematis etc. which also fingers crossed I will be able to buy some in due course.
Weather permitting (although at the moment it looks as though we are going to have rain right up until next Monday unless it changes) it is going to be a very busy few days here. I shall nip out inbetween showers if we get them and do what I can where I can. I did not get any work done on Saturday, and Friday it was just a little while on Friday evening. Even so, if work is not going on outside there will be work going on in the house! I have enough to do to keep me out of trouble or get me in it, whichever way you look at it! It does feel good though that I am starting to get somewhere with the garden after so long with it being a complete mess and the state of irritating me to high heaven. I am very stiff with all the pulling, shoving, digging and lugging, but looking on the positive side the exercise will do me good in the longer term.
I intend to go out again in a little while once it has cooled down a bit and do a bit more weeding and maybe a little digging in the side border I started the other day. I hope to get this side completely clear this evening.
Tea tonight is going to be another cold platter, OH did not fancy a roast dinner so we may well have that tomorrow evening.
Very tasty it was too.
Right am off to potter.
Hope everyone has had a lovely day.
Catch you soon.

Does your husband not help you in the garden? Keith used to do the heavy jobs for me that I couldn't manage (but now, 10 years on, I have to do as he is housebound).
ReplyDeleteHe does shift stuff when I want him to but not of his own volition. He is not a natural gardener though. That has always been left for me to do along with a lot of other stuff too. He is past redemption so I just get on with it. Causes me more angst trying to get him to do stuff! Have to work with what you have!xx
