Bottoming out the Study/Craft Room/Computer Room Part One - Updated
My was it cold here last night -2 degrees!
Today has been a lovely bright day - still chilly but not as cold as yesterday which is something.
Well today 1st March 2025 - and where has the year gone too. Time seems to be passing too quickly at the moment. In the blink of an eyelid and it is as though we have time-travelled quick stepping into the future. I had to nip to the shop today and so took advantage and nipped into the Charity shop as well. Naughty me!
Came back with two nice wooden stands for Baking trays or Pan lids for £1 each.
Also found a beautiful blue and white Ginger jar. Just liked it - will go with some other pieces I have. £4.
And an M & S musical biscuit tin with a partial globe on top for £0.50. I like nice tins to put on the coffee table at Christmas and either fill with sweets, biscuits or nuts and this one is a nice one. Originally had biscuits in I think. That will go with the Christmas items.
I did see a concertina style wine rack as well. If it is still there when I go again I might indulge as I will need extra wine storage later in the year.
Therefore a few little bits to complement the bits I already have and which are practical and useful apart from the Ginger jar. It is quite a large sized one in any event. I just liked this particular one.
Well it is what it is in any event it is bottom out the Study/Craft Room/Computer room again.
In reality I have been doing a bit in here for the last couple of days. Just tiny bits to start with, and today I have had a really good session at sorting things out.
I am back to just getting the essentials in here and if and when I craft, I will bring in the item being worked on rather than leaving it on my desk and cluttering things up. The only real exception to this will be if I am working an embroidery on my hoop frame or a Needlepoint on either my Slate or Roller frame. The room really is too small to house lots of other stuff and certainly not bags which it has been under the desk out of the way. However that is going to stop.
I have the walls and the skirting boards to wash down tomorrow, and the desk is being dragged out for this purpose so that it gets its Spring clean. All the equipment on the desk has to come off first of course.
All the bedding needs to come off as well and then washed and tumbled. A proper bottoming out.
I was going to sit and deal with some craft work this evening but in the end cancelled that and did a bit more tidying. I will be able to catch up with the crafting either tomorrow or next weekend. Will probably give me more time overall.
So back into the groove again on the cleaning.
Hopefully will get this cleared up tomorrow, failing that it will be sometime on Monday.
I have just checked overnight early morning temperatures for Sunday and it is -1 degree. Forecast for tomorrow is Sunny and supposed to be -2 degrees tomorrow night. So will see what happens. Hoping to get into the front garden tomorrow to actually sort it out a little bit or at least start it!
Hope everyone has had a lovely day and evening.
Catch you soon.

It was -7C here today and again tomorrow so Winter is hanging on - it is even colder with a strong wind blowing. Hoping it warms up a bit next week. Got the sheets changed today and did a few more small jobs so at least I feel as though I have accomplished a few things. You have certainly found some lovely bits and pieces at the charity shops lately!
ReplyDeleteMinus 7 brggh. It would kill me as I do not do the cold. You have my admiration if you are coping with that and worse all the time. Glad to hear that you have managed to get some things sorted. Cannot beat fresh sheets. Yes, I am lucky in that I have been able to pick up a few lovely bits and bobs. Hopefully will be able to get the photos up on my finds shortly. Take care Tricia xx
