Getting Stuck Back in The Kitchen and Plans for Later in the Week

I have been working away in the kitchen for a little while the past couple of days.  I am dealing with each task until conclusion.  Time is not the restriction here which often it is, I am intent of preserving focus and seeing each task through to conclusion, so another piece of the jigsaw has been nibbled away at in small bits the purpose of which is that I do not want to overdue it and do too much which in turn ceases production.

Overall Plans

This looks as good a week as any to start dealing with the house, which in some cases is an insurmountable task.  The weather seems to be fairer; Sun is forecast for the best part of the week, so it may also be good to get the new line strung and get my washing out on to the line to dry in the fresh air.  As a result of project washing, there will then be project ironing.  I will try and do a little of this each day even if it is only an hour, it will help me get through it at the end of the day. So therefore in theory it is going to be a busy week!  

Monday

Plans in Theory and Plans in Reality

Well it was before a Jack Russell struck us a couple of nights on the trot.  Completely shattered.  Part of the problem is that she wails and howls when she is upset about something; we live in a terrace with a young family next door and she sets off at a moments whim.  She is also profoundly deaf and cussed and if she is in a no settle mood she can be a nightmare which results in some nights with very little sleep.  I commiserate with her to some extent as I know the arthritis causes a lot of ache in the body and pain and sometimes you just cannot get comfy. Missy is also more anxious than she was and needs constant reassurance that everything is okay made worse by her deafness.  She cannot walk hardly at all these days.  We know it is a slippery slope where we are losing her little by little.  She is still very interested in life though and her food.  The spark is still there for the present.  We are therefore supporting her the best we can, but the lack of sleep really is a killer.  Even the cat gets grouchy with her.

Today I am just pottering, dealing with bits here and there and dealing with some of the preserving, just to do a bit of something and to get some things out of the way with.  There will be an update post later in the week on the preserves achieved this week.

It has been a gorgeous Sun filled day today and indeed I got laundry out on the line, just did not get the new line strung.  Cannot locate it at the moment.  So it is what it is, but it is on the list for replacement.  I of course have the new clothes props so that will make a bit of a difference in getting the washing higher up and more easily able to dry.  

Outline Plans for Tuesday

I will need to go and do a bit of food shopping.  Probably Aldi,  Iceland and Home Bargains, the Butchers and Waitrose.  Will see how it pans out. It may be that I may have to go another day.

Note:

Well those were the plans they will have to be woven into the rest of the week where I can now.  Just did not happen as very cream crackered due to lack of sleep.

Tuesday

G went to the bakery this morning so I did not have to cook breakfast for a change.  He came back with some Savouries and some buns.  We are therefore quite simply just going to have a Cheese bun or two each later on (using the Quartz cheese purchased yesterday) maybe with a little salad and some pickled Shallots to be washed down with a bottle of Pear Cider.  Now that sounds really nice.

Mental note for myself:

I also need to source some Potato Bags as I have quite a few potatoes to get into the garden.  I do not want to commit lots of the growing area in the garden down to potatoes solely and thought that this might be a way of extending the growing area along with planters for courgettes etc.  I also have Strawberry plants

Therefore thus far things are not going as anticipated and I have also been dragged off to deal with some other issues too.  So much for the plans of mice and men hey!

Now sat down to put my feet up at long last. 

Hopefully, I can start retrieving my plans from Wednesday onwards. Fingers crossed and toes plaited!

Plans for Later in the week

Thursday

This Thursday G is going fishing with his best mate.  That means I will have the house to myself and be on my own for the first time in absolute ages.  That will be an absolute novelty as I am rarely on my own these days. A day for me to work hard until he returns home in the late afternoon.  That means I will be babysitting a Jack Russell and a Cat and will not be able to get out and about.  However at least I will be home alone working on something constructive whether it goes to plan or not remains to be seen!

I intend to go into the back bedroom and pull stuff about whilst he is out of the house and it means I can safely move stuff around without any interference or criticism at all and start to get boxes packed and stored safely.  The more I can get sorted here the better.  Some of the Boxes will get labelled up in the process as well.

Friday

I intend to pop into town to have a quick look around.  There are a couple of shops I need to go into in any event.  It will be good just to be able to browse a little bit as well.  I also intend to revisit Waitrose to see if I can get a few more Chive Plants for my garden Planters.
