A Slow Day

 however very much a busy one.  It was grey and a little chilly first thing, but has warmed up this afternoon with bright sunshine.

I had a lay in for a change first thing, as it has been quite a busy week and things have caught up with me somewhat.  However putting that aside, certain things have been achieved.

For the past few days the washing machine has been out of action and I now have a big pile of washing to do as we have clean on every day and then there is the household linen, plus I am still wading through the washing of the items that had been in storage.  Today I bought out the Big Guns i.e. G.

He has waded in there literally as the washer had not emptied and we have ended up with water all over the kitchen floor.  A slight inconvenience but if it got my washer going then that is all that matters.  I hate it when I do not have an operational washer as I do use it a lot.

At the moment, early days yet, but he seems to have fixed it.I have had a wash on and it seems to have done what it should do.  Will see what happens with the rest of it.

I then went out into the garden, and as I had prepared the border to the patio last night by pouring boiling water on the invasive weeds and also soaking the other ground behind, to actually help with the dig-ability of the border.  It seems to have worked a treat and I have forked the border and got rid of the weeds in the hot sunshine this afternoon.  Got rid of the weeds and as much twitch as I can.  I am going to prep up the next tranche of garden in the same way.  This time just with cold water to loosen the ground up a bit for digging.  Then if the weather is fine tomorrow I shall be getting stuck in, in sections.

I am a glutton for punishment.  Let us just say that I ache quite a bit from top to bottom.  My back was bad from yesterday in any event.  Even though it is hard work, I consider it good exercise, and if I keep at it in segments, it will hopefully help me overall.  Fingers crossed that is the case.

Tonight we have a Beefburger for tea in a bun followed by a yogurt Fruit Corner thingy each.  All to be washed down with a milkshake.  G has chocolate and I have vanilla.  Very forgiving food when one is busy.

Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to get up a bit earlier and get stuck in for a little bit in the garden and then it is very much back into the kitchen.

I did not get to any crafting last night at all and had planned to do some tonight.  That is not now going to happen as I have still to cook tea and also water up.  I also have washing to get on the go to try and catch up with this backlog.  If I do anything when I get to sit down it will be the UFO crochet blanket which I am still persevering with.  I am determined to get as much done as I can do.  Needless to say it is going to be another extremely busy week ahead here.

Tomorrow is another day as they say.
