Peace, Quiet and Rest
Thursday
Peace
We had a peaceful night last night where Missy actually slept the best part of the night through. As a result we all got a bit of sleep, although it took me ages to get off not quite trusting that we were going to get a night off, but miraculously we did.
G went off this morning, thinking that Missy was out for the count, 10 minutes and G escaped but I have had GBO of the earhole ever since. Fingers crossed she will quieten down soon. I may have spoken too soon but silence! Fingers crossed and toes plaited!
She was out for the count most of the day. Appears to be bright and chilled out which for the best part she normally is which is the main thing. We have had a break in any event.
G enjoyed his fishing, but I did not get anything done at all today. I suppose really I had not planned too and so have taken things easy. I am not feeling 100% in any event. Thank goodness it is a Bank holiday weekend. Where has this year got to.
My Tomato feeders have arrived and I am pleased with them. Hopefully the compost will turn up on Saturday as promised.
Tomorrow I have things to do a lot of things. House related and predominantly kitchen based although will be between the bathroom and the dining room as well as the back bedroom.
I certainly when the compost arrives will have a lot of Courgettes to plant up initially which will free up some much needed space in the greenhouse. I also have a couple of Tomato plants and a Chilli Plant and Cucumber to put into bigger pots. Then the Tomatoes will need planting up. Am hoping to get to B & Q over the weekend in any event.

Quiet and Plans
A late get up but a lay in that was much needed. Since then it has been a peaceful and quiet day. Missy behaved herself last night and for the best part of today has also been peaceful and quieter within herself.
I ventured into the garden this afternoon into the quiet of the afternoon and a peace that seems alien in a City but more akin to a countryside setting. I then started to sow all my Nasturtiums; 70 seeds approximately five different sized trays. There were then the 50 Sweet-pea seeds; five small trays filled. I have always used Nasturtiums prolifically in hanging baskets and planters, but I have also learned that they are a good companion plant for the veg garden too. One of the reasons that I have done a few more seeds than I usually would. I also love the fragrance, colour and life of Sweet-peas.
It is a long time since I have grown them and I am hoping to have a row of them segregating the patio slabs and the Asparagus beds. That is my plan in any event. I am also looking to put some plants into some planters and "Wig-Wam" them to create a moveable feature to place elsewhere in the garden and pretty things up a little bit more.
I also started clearing the long grass with the new rake I bought the other day and have cleared all that was cut the other day. I shall do more on that tomorrow and hopefully also start to dig up the next section surrounding the patio slabs. I have plans to put some gravel down the pavement side of the patio slabs - there is a narrow area that soon becomes home to weeds. Before the fire I used to have all my Chive planters the length of the patio slabs on this little strip of garden. The planters will sit better on the gravel and stop the weeds. I have two planters of Chives on the go at the moment and am due to buy in more plants to pot up another two planters. We still have to level up the patio as it has sunk in places. This is one of the reasons I am processing all the old compost so that we can pad it up a bit and get it more level. I plan to put the old patio table and chairs on there so that we can sit out there if we want to. It is well battered but still usable.
I then gravitated to the greenhouses. As the temperature was low here last night 4 degrees, I did not water up as I did not want them to become cold. I took the opportunity today to check which plants needed a little water and dealt with them as needed. I did have to drag plants out of each greenhouse to get in to water, but managed to get things all done and dusted and all popped back in again.
I have also received confirmation that my Compost will be arriving tomorrow afternoon. Then the potting up will commence. The Courgettes most definitely need potting on as does the Cucumber, Peppers and the Tomatoes that were bought in. Then there are all the Tomato, Chilli and Pepper seedlings that I potted on which need to go into bigger pots. Some will go outside (Tomatoes) but the majority will be in the greenhouses. There will be a lot of work going on in the greenhouses and the garden tomorrow. I have a lot of herbs in pots, and they will go out into the garden or some of them will tomorrow. I am keeping them in pots for the time being. We need a new fence and I will be talking to the Landlord's Agent about this so I do not want to plant anything down the fence border as they will need to dig in new posts. No point in putting plants in before this has been done.
Rest
I have also received a phone call arranging a telephone appointment with one of the GP's at my practice as a result of my blood test last week. I asked the Receptionist if anything was wrong and she said not. Something is up though I can feel it. Probably something not quite as it should be with my bloods (or another condition to add to the list). I have to wait until the 5 June for the appointment.
Tonight I have sat down and rested after having tea. I have not done any crafting but would hope to do some over the weekend. I have therefore taken the time for me for a change. I am not good at doing that i.e. taking time for me as something else always needs dealing with.
I have had the washer on preparing the laundry to go on the line for tomorrow as well.
It will very much be a Compost and potting on day tomorrow as well as me having another go at the border where the Asparagus and the Sweet-Peas are to go eventually. Once this initial area is cleared will then either extend this a bit further on or tackle outside the greenhouses. Will wait and see what happens.
I also need to have a look at the Rhubarb and see what I can cut and then make something with for the Pantry shelf, whether that be Rhubarb in Syrup for pies or Crumbles or for making some Rhubarb Wine or something else entirely.
There is therefore potentially a lot going on for tomorrow, which is really why I have not done much this evening. Happy Days.
Catch you soon.
