Sorry about being Missing

Wednesday Evening

Sometimes you have to admit defeat especially when it is a Migraine.  I have suffered with these since I was a child.  My Dad used to have them, but when we mentioned it to the Consultant at the Hospital, he said that it was quite common for people with epilepsy to have frequent headaches/migraines.  Since then they have come and gone.  Sometimes worse than others but nearly every time I go to bed early and do not tolerate light too well and it hurts when I move.  Usually concentrated behind my eyes (feels like daggers being stuck in the back of the eyeball).

I did manage to eat some tea, but not as much as I would normally have.  I have therefore frozen the leftover Venison in some of the gravy for a meal later on.  Not wasting a thing.

Thursday

Feeling much better today but will take it steady.  Head is still bad and every so often get a sharp pain reminding me to take things easy.

I did not have to wrap the greenhouses up last night as temperature was 6 degrees.  Might have to tonight, but will look at the forecast later to see if the weather is due to warm up a bit more or whether it is still remaining colder.

In any event started off with something peaceful.  I went into the garden and started potting up the Mint I had taken cuttings from the other day for bought Garden mint which appears to be very different from another Garden mint that I have.  So will see how it turns out.  I also soaked some Runner Bean seeds the other evening and they are now ready to plant into modules.  There are only ten seeds in this particular packet.  I suspect they are Scarlet Emperor Runner beans, but there was no name on the packet and the outer packet had disappeared.  I intend to plant these into a couple of planters that I have and tripod them in the pots for a practical reason as well as a sculptural point to give some height in the garden.  I also intend to soak some more and have them in the soil in the garden running the width of the garden and climbing up a proper trellis.

I also intend to do the same with Sweet Peas as well, i.e. put them into a planter or two as well.  I love sweet peas and do have seed, however cannot lay my hands on it at the moment. I always soak Sweet Pea seed as well.

There are a few plants I would like to get hold of for the garden.  I would like a couple of French Lavender plants for pots, a couple of Hydrangeas, a couple of Jasmine, a couple of English Lavender, a couple of Honeysuckle, Rambling Roses and a couple of Clematis.  To be honest there are lots of plants I would like, but there would be too many for this garden.

Friday

G was going fishing but changed his mind.  We had a particularly rough night with Missy last night and whenever there is a mess I get woken up to clear it all up.  Last night was such a night.  They are few and far between but it does disturb the sleep.  Got everything sorted and re-settled and then crashed.  So still not hundred per cent.

I have today however been pottering, tidying things as I go, no energy to do anything more than this really.  It has involved cleaning and putting away of stuff.  I still have a long way to go though.  Starting to make inroads though.  Cannot finish the Pantry until the kitchen and the bathroom are sorted.  Just a reality.

I have today ordered some wallpaper for the dining room though.  I hope it arrives soon. It is a vintage wallpaper a beautiful Saffron colour with a tiny pattern like little leaves all over it.  I already have some Country Diary that I was going to use, but the one I have bought will fit the aesthetic here better.  The wallpaper that is past its best on this wall is this lovely rich colour.  A happy colour and very vibrant.  That should arrive in the next few days.  I am trying to get the supplies to hand so that can roll through projects.

One of the reasons I am concentrating on the cleaning, the tidying and packing away in the kitchen, bathroom and dining room is that there is a lot of stuff in these three rooms that needs organising, tidying and put away as to ease of use.  Once these three rooms are sorted G can then start to concentrate on the flooring in the bathroom and the kitchen.  Once the wallpapering is done in the dining room, we can then do the flooring in there. That is the plan in any event.  Trying to get this house more usable than it is overall and get as clean as I can.  Will get there one day.

Have a lovely evening everyone.

Catch you soon.

  1. You are always working so hard. I hope that the migraine didn't leave you too drained. Bet the garden will look wonderful this year. I have got both runner beans and flat beans planted now - had to get them in as the runners were shooting for the sky.

    1. Thank you BB, Migraine always leaves me drained if I do not catch them in time. This time caught it pretty early so was able to rest up so not as impacted but bad enough. Garden is a jungle at the moment and I have a lot to do out there as well. Trying to do a bit each day but at least I have plants ready to go in as soon as one area is done. A lot of the plants are for the greenhouse ie tomatoes chillies cucumber and the courgettes are going into planters outside. Just got to wait for the runners to sprout now. However do have a lot of herbs as well as trying to build a herb garden back up again. Take care Tricia xxx
