I think I am just going to stop making plans

as this week has literally been a "washout" on planning, particularly in light of the weather, although some things have been done I still have not completed a project. We seem to have showers most days well into next week as well.  Some days a lot heavier than others if the forecast runs true to form.

After finishing off last evening, by watering up and closing everything up, I came in to check the weather forecast which does not look particularly promising at all for today.  More rain which will stop the trip to the Tip, and at the moment it is not looking particularly promising until Friday and even then there are showers.  Alternatively it could be Monday next week before there are not showers at all.  We will just have to see how things go in the next few days and get there when we can.  I also have the rest of the Bay tree to bag up, plus there is a load more to come off the tree yet.

Guess it is going to be a "Pivot" day again!

I did not even get to the wardrobe last night with the books in, so that may be a good thing to do instead.  At least something productive will be happening.

Today I also had the telephone appointment with the GP.  It would appear that the test that was ordered was a kidney function test, but the GP was a little concerned that this was all that had been done, bearing in mind the medication that I am on.  Equally as most of the testing has taken place via the hospital she has no baseline as to whether this is normal for me or not.  I am therefore to have a raft of tests taken in about three weeks time. From the answers I have given she thinks I may be slightly dehydrated as a result of which I am having to increase my water intake as there is a slight elevation on the kidney function test. She needs to try this first before exploring other possibilities if needed. I can keep drinking my mint tea, but normal tea I have to cut back on and obviously plenty of water.  Think the honey, lemon and ginger tea will also be used as well. The re-testing will confirm whether the position has been altered or whether further investigation is needed.  Oh well it is just the depth that varies.  Hopefully the water will put things back on schedule.  I have drank well over a pint of water today.  I know I need to drink more, but it is a start.

It has rained overnight here and all day so far here, as no doubt it has in other places as well.  I am crippled up a bit today on my joints and am in a bit of discomfort. I think it is a combination of the past few days' efforts in the garden and the wet weather.  I have had some Paracetamol to help a bit today.  I am taking it easy, I have some things to do but it may well turn into me doing very little as I really do not feel the pull to do much of anything else.  Really have felt off colour.  G and Missy slept well last night  - I did not.

I decided to nip down to Waitrose and try and get something for tea.  We have been a bit off our grub of late and I wasn't quite sure what to get. In the end I went for fish; simple to cook, unfussy and easy eating.  Some Icelandic Cod fillets for G and some smoked Haddock for myself.  I have also bought in some potted beef, ham, an Italian Ham cured with Wild Garlic and Lemon Verbena which I thought was worth a try,  Salt Beef, Raclette Cheese, blocks of butter 1lb blocks of Butter for £4.50 each which are needed for some Lemon, and Orange curds. I have also bought a chicken to roast for tomorrow night's tea, some Orange juice with bits in, Bonne Maman Yogurt, Cherry and Rhubarb and Strawberry, some Strawberries, (2 packs), Tub of Double Cream and some Clotted Cream. I plan to make a batch of Scones and serve them with the Strawberries and Clotted cream in them for a change.  I also bought in some sweet Italian Peppers and some smaller snacking peppers both of which were reduced and some Large tomatoes.

Tomorrow is another day as they say.  According to the forecast, it is rain in the morning, but dry in the afternoon so we may be able to do a bit more with the Tip run and the garden.

We will see what happens.

Catch you soon.

  1. Gosh, some nice grub from Waitrose by the sound of it. Sorry you have to have lots of blood tests. I agree with you, rest up a bit (time for crafting?) if you aren't at your best. I have to say, living in Wet Wales, if I waited for a dry day before going to the Tip, I'd normally have a long wait. We have waterproof skins and waterproof clothes, so worth just getting it done and change into dry clothes later if you have to!
