Friday and Saturday and Sunday

Thursday night

We had a really rough night with Missy again last night.  It was not a good night for me with this but I also suffered from some extreme cramp attacks in my legs where I could not straighten them out and the pain was excruciating and I was in tears.  Sometimes happens.  Have found that I have episodes when I have been on the go an awful lot.  It blooming well hurt!   It leaves me feeling bruised the next day.

I was in the garden again  today continuing on with what I had started on Thursday.  I have potted up the Purple Cosse Beans and also the Outdoor Girl tomatoes.  I have more beans to do tomorrow and then it is just the Leeks to sort out the Musselburgh and the Giant Mammoth.

Friday Morning

I also sorted more spent compost for recovery that will probably happen sometime on Saturday as well.

The focus today has been geared more towards the flower aspects of my garden.  I washed a big stack of wall planters today which had got decidedly grotty and they are now all squeaky clean.  Think I will be planting some of these up on Saturday.  I added the new tomato plants for the time being to the Tomato greenhouse.  I also re-watered everything up again.  I am glad that I added extra compost to the Courgette planters.

I have to be in the kitchen for part of the day on Saturday but I shall be switching between the garden and the kitchen for the next couple of days.  It will be an ongoing process.  I now have to sort the Cucumber, Chilli and Sweet Pepper greenhouse and all the plants that I have there.

My Dehydrator has also arrived. I will put that into use on Saturday.  I have Chives, Rosemary, Thyme, Mushrooms and Celery to dry for the Pantry shelf.  This item will now happen tomorrow.

Weather Forecast for Saturday

Overcast and temperatures up to 23 degrees; overcast with some spells of sunshine.

Plans for Saturday

  • Start potting up the flower planters for the garden;
  • Start potting up the wall planters for the garden;
  • Start to sort the Kitchen out, ultimately stripping it and then deep cleaning everything;
  • Start sorting the poly containers outside out in order that they can be cleaned and then I can start using them in the back bedroom for storage;
It looks as though it will be a later evening in any event which the Summer nights tend to attract due to the amount of daylight available.

What was achieved:

  1. Opened up the Greenhouses
  2. Further recycling of compost dealing with another two containers.  That leaves at the moment just two to tackle.
  3. Potting up the Wall Planters for the garden; four done more to do;
  4. Potting up the Flower Planters for the Garden; the largest one. I am hoping to do a couple of longer ones in the next couple of days.  Depends on the weather;
  5. Feeding the plants and closing them up for the evening;
  6. Started prepping the kitchen for a deep clean;  A little bit done.
  7. Sorted tea Hunter's Chicken for this evening;
Here are photos of some of the wall planters I prepared today and also a large planter for the patio area. There is a story behind this planter.  The top is part of a large planter that I used to have in the front garden.  When we had the fire the base was burned and melted.  I have therefore done a "bodge" job and popped a large plant pot underneath.  There is a lump of concrete in the bottom of the plant pot to hold the whole thing together so it does not blow over.

This is very much the rough version as the plants have only just been planted up.  They need a few days to settle and fluff up and settle a bit. Hopefully they will look super when they grow a bit more.  I did not have many plants.  I did grow the Nasturtiums though.  I am looking forward to being able to use some of the Nasturtium Blossoms in some preserves.

Weather Forecast for Sunday:

Stormy weather and rain; some incidences of Thunder and possibly lightening!

On this basis I do not think it is a washing Day. Think this will be Monday the traditional day for washing all things including your smalls!  I need a good day as I have a lot of bedding to get washed and out on the line.

I hope to be able to get up early again and go into the garden first thing whilst it is quieter and be able to progress with getting growing jobs done in the greenhouses and outside;

Outline Plans for Sunday

It will be a kitchen day and pottering day.  Weather is going to be stormy lots of rain, thunder and lightning.  Therefore am just going to work through and do as much as I can.

If I can get outside for a little while I will, but that is all dependent on what the weather actually does.

The rest of today will be captured in the next post.

Have a lovely evening everyone.

Catch you soon.
