Regrouping

Today that is.  I am back in the front bedroom wading.  Shifted more books, sorted a load of magazines out and got rid of more rubbish.

In the real world have got to the bottom of why the Doctor has been very interested in my blood results and why I have already had a couple of repeat tests. My white blood cell count is a little low, but that could be down to illness and will be reviewed again in due course. My Blood Sugars are good, my Liver function is good my Cholesterol level is borderline, and based on a module where they predict where possibly issues may arise they have determined that I need to go on medication to try and sort this out and get it in line before it goes on to cause further problems. I am therefore to be put on Cholesterol medication for the foreseeable.  The one she is popping me on can apparently cause Liver problems and also aches and pains.  I get aches and pains anyway; quite a lot!   No matter the medication that is taken we all react differently and the only way to see is to take the medication and see what happens.  That I know from experience as there are several medications that I am not good with. However they will monitor me and I have received a three month blood test to check on progress.  I am at liberty to contact the Surgery should there be any issues.  We shall therefore see what we shall see.  It is good to know that they are trying to look after me.

I am still waiting for results on my eyes.  Not heard anything as yet.  Might be that I will get the results of this when I actually see my Consultant Rheumatologist on 8 August.  There are some questions I have for him in any event moving forward especially about the medication and whether I will be remaining on this or will be popped onto an alternative. I am assuming as I have not heard anything that everything is okay at the moment, as I am led to believe that if there is an issue they take you off it reasonably quickly.  Fingers crossed everything is okay.

Back to the house I was doing the bedroom until I decided to get tea ready.  We had a Fajita traybake and I was just going to cook it as is.  Then G piped up why not get some wraps, sour cream, salsa and Guacamole.  So I did went and got some but did not have any Guacamole.  I therefore decided to try making my own never having worked with Avocados at all.  Managed to get two ripe Avocados for 75p, and came home and prepared them and then used my food processor to make the Guacamole.  Recipe said Lemon juice, 2 Avocados, a little salt and could add onion if wanted so I did.  However I went a tad heavier with the onion than I needed to.  Its not terrible but G did not like it.  I therefore explained to him that it was my first time of making, and that is something I can tweak as I go along.  G is being really funny with food at the moment and is extremely difficult to cook for.  He has gone off the Tray bakes from the Butchers, has chuntered about this Chicken Fajita each time I have mentioned having it saying he does not like them (never having had the Butcher's version before)!  Doesn't like the wraps (even though he is the on who asked for them).  Conceded that the chicken was nice, but really he is not a fan.

The prepared Guacamole in a small bowl, with the cling film pressed close to the surface of the Guacamole in an attempt to stop it oxidising (as per the recipe instructions).

The tray bake all cooked and then the chicken which was in big pieces was cut down into pieces as was the pepper to make sure that it fitting in the wraps properly.

Starting to layer up the wraps with the Guacamole, cooked Chicken and Peppers.

Adding on the Salsa and the Sour Cream

The first wrap folded up.  Am not an expert at this but I have tried my best.  At least have had a go at this at the end of the day.  The more you practice with cooking, the easier you find your way around a recipe and start adding in your own personalised tweaks.  This is such a recipe.

I have therefore had a go.  This is something I would do again as I quite enjoyed it although I cannot eat two wraps.  I am stuffed at one!

Oh well, as I say I have had a go at it.

Tomorrow he is fishing another match.  He came second in his match the other day.  Lets see what he does tomorrow!

I think I will be in the bedroom again for some time tomorrow as it is slow going and I do not have a lot of time to get sorted.  If G is out the way I should be able to spread more and get done what I need to.  That remains to be seen of course. Think there will be a lot of sorted stuff out for the charity shop on the clothes front.

Right must go on I have a tiny Jack Russell moaning at the moment whilst I have been typing, and it is making it difficult to pull my words together.

Have a lovely evening everyone.

Catch you soon.

  1. It is good you are getting to the bottom of your blood results, even if it means new medicine. It is a bit scary to try new things, but it is nice they are looking out for you. Your homemade guacamole and fajitas look super yummy, even if G is a bit picky. It is so cool you are learning new recipes.

    1. Hi Melody, I am very lucky in that the Surgery I am with tries to look after me. I don't bother them unless I have to, always been pretty independent. Thank you for being kind about my Mexican style meal. I enjoyed it, the Guacamole needs less onion next time but was not bad for a first attempt. I love to cook when I have the time, but recently that has not happened as much. Hopefully that will change moving forward. Take care Tricia aka Pattypanx
