Thursday I crashed, Friday I rested, Saturday I igot stuck in

Thursday

This heat is really getting to me and I ended up crashing out this yesterday afternoon for about an hour and a half and felt much better for it.  The early 6:00am start probably did not help any.

Friday

In the morning.

Missy was also mithering a bit earlier on.  So not much achieved today.  Have just been in the kitchen wading in the wellies to try and get a bit more done. It was too hot and so I downed tools for today.  No point in making myself poorly.

Otherwise though It is a matter of just plodding and getting things done a bit at a time where I can.

There has been more washing up done.  What I mean by washing up is clearing cupboards out of their contents and giving it a good wash through. It is something I tend to do regularly.

There is one thing I have tackled today though.  I emptied a cupboard out the other day and it needs a good scrub out.  I will then pop some of my electrical equipment off the counter into the cupboard to create a little more working space.  That is my priority for today and if I get this done I will be happy.

Saturday

Started very early courtesy of Miss Missy!  Not saying anymore.  She is now fast asleep and we are weary.

However, I have to get on.

I have been and opened up the greenhouses, fed one of the cats that comes to see me, this time the black one which is also a stray.  The beautiful grey cat that was really skinny that I called "Grayson", I have not seen for a couple of weeks.  I suspect he has moved on.  He was the only one of the three that used to come that let me fuss him.  I was rather fond of him.  I still keep looking.

I have started to tidy up around the back door a bit.  I will carry on with this part of the garden later in the afternoon.  I want to in the first instance at least get the pavement area cleared, swept and disinfected.  Then I will set too and weed the old Herb bed and start to try and get the vine trained in a bit.  A bit late but there we are.  Any bunches of grapes will also be tied into little bags to stop the birds from getting them.  Do not know what the variety of grape is but the few we have had are absolutely delicious. A pinky green and very sweet but tiny.

Update: Part of the work has been done but I still need to tie in the grapevine and move the boxes out of the way.  Will probably get stuck in on that again tomorrow.

At some point I also want to get the four planters on the wall either side of the kitchen window and the bathroom window. They are starting to fill out nicely.  Last night whilst I was finishing up my chores in the garden, the eldest daughter asked if this was my garden.  She told me that she loved my flowers and everything else I was trying to do in the garden. A lovely lass,  I think she is about 12 years old.

I am after getting some window boxes for down here as well.  Will see what happens.  I have some lottery win (scratch card) monies to retrieve, and some birthday money so there may well be enough to get this area sorted with a few window boxes.  For this year I could then put some herbs in here, whilst planning for next year to grow my own where I can plants for filling them up. I love window boxes and hanging baskets.

Since then, the heat has got up a bit and I have retreated into the house to work in the kitchen.  I have a lot to do as usual.

Washing machine is on again a daily thing here as a rule.  However it is beautiful drying weather and I am trying to make the best of the free resource.  House linen and clothes always smell wonderfully fresh when they have been line dried.

Am starting with the washing up again.  I will then set about the sink and window area and clear this completely, giving it a good clean out.  Will then sort out the under-cupboard.  Once this is done lots of bits and bobs that are lurking can be put away.

Update: yet again part done, will get finished off tomorrow.

No end of washing has been done though.

No end of washing u p and stuff starting to go back into cupboards.

All the plants have been watered up in both greenhouses, the Courgette patch and the rest of the garden.  So at least that all got completed.

Now to sort tea. We have a prawn cocktail with bread and butter and Strawberries and cream for afters.  Might have a nice cold cider too.

Hope everyone has a lovely evening.

Cheers.
