Routine

We had a rough night with Missy last night which ended up with us sleeping later this morning. Therefore not much achieved today.

However, we all have our little routines.  One of mine is that these days I split my shopping up into groups with the flexibility that if I come across bargains and I am able to take advantage of them I do.  It does bug me if I cannot take advantage, but you cannot have everything and maybe next time I will get a better bargain.

Today we went to do a household cleaning products run.  I primarily use Home Bargains for this as they have good prices on toilet tissue, washing powder, fabric conditioner and stain remover.  I also get my washing up liquid and dishcloths from here as well. I had not planned on doing this run today but I ran out of soap powder.  This is one of the things I hate to be without as even if you are untidy you can still keep clean. I think this is why I go spare when the washing machine is not co-operating. In any event, I tend to buy in the bigger boxes of soap powder - I particularly like Non-Bio Persil. It is about £11 a box and I bought two today -  a spare pack moving forward.  Two large tubs of stain remover also found their way back here. So moving forward for the next month/maybe two months I am all sorted on the washing powder and on the toilet tissue.  Have also bought in some general tissue as having pets you get little accidents now and then.  It is much easier to clear up with tissue then wash everything down.  Therefore this is what we do.  Each household is very different and you have to deal with this issues that arise in your own way and in the most practical of methods.

I did have a good look around the store as G went off to get some maggots.  He does not enjoy shopping at the best of times and only tries to hustle me along if he does come in which aggravates me as I like to have a good look around when I do go somewhere.

Today, Home Bargains did have some nice bits on both the Autumn decorations and the Christmas decorations front. I saw several pieces that I was quite taken with, but we will have to see what happens.  In the bigger scheme of things I have other priorities at the moment and once they are sorted we will see then.

If you are into Halloween as you have children - they have some seriously nice pieces.  At the moment I do not collect Halloween decorations although I do have a Witch on a Broomstick!

There are some serious bargains on the tinned fruit and other tinned goods section as well.  I was also able to get my Jordans Honey Nut Granola for £1.99 a box so a couple of boxes of that came home with me, as well as a couple of large tins of Carnation evaporated milk which is currently on offer at £1 a tin.  Everywhere else it seems to be in the region of £1.50.  A couple of tins of that also came home as well.  I also came away with 4 tubs of their own spreadable butter which we do not mind and which is a lot cheaper than other brands and some Vintage spreadable cheese for toast or crumpets.  So very much a bulk buy on household consumables rather than food today.  Always worth a look on their food section.

On the gardening front they also have bulbs for planting in store, and trays of violas and pansies for planting out at not too bad a price.  I may go back for some of these.

I have also bought a 25litre poly tub as I want to have a go at some meat curing moving up to Christmas. It might be too big a box, but it will not go to waste. This is the first box, and I will be getting a couple of more in due course. Probably need slightly smaller as the boxes need to be kept in the fridge for a period.  Me planning forward again.

Since coming home, I have managed to get everything that was bought where it belongs.  Mostly bulky items today, but pleased that have got it sorted moving forward for a little while.

G is in a fishing match tomorrow and so I am hoping to make up tomorrow for what I did not get to today. Jack Russell permitting.  I am daft with animals I always have been, however Missy has been with us for a lot of years and has given a lot of love during those years.  It is only fair that we return that in shovel-full quantities to help her when she is struggling in old age.  She very much is our baby.  Mischief, well she is Nurse Mischief and keeps going and checking on Missy every so often.  Despite their love hate relationship they tend to muddle along well for the best part.

Now to get some tea ready and do a little more sorting - well what I can easily do.  I do not want to be as late finishing up tonight as I was last night.

Have a lovely evening everyone.

Hopefully I will have a better day tomorrow.

Catch you soon.
