A frustrating week

Where many things have not gone to plan but that is life.  I also had another trip to the Doctors this week for monitoring purposes as the GP is keeping tabs on my Cholesterol and Liver function parameters. I am being looked after which I am grateful for.

One thing I have noticed over many years of blood being taken is that the more experienced the nurse, the gentler the blood taking.  Some of them are so gentle you hardly notice it is happening.  It does make a real difference though, especially to someone who is not keen on needles at the best of times.  It is always a relief when the Nurse is so gentle.

It has also been chillier, wetter and damper this week with hardly any Sun, which I think depresses the mood in any event.

Not much has happened since I was able to get stuck in earlier in the week and where I was able to shift quite a bit of stuff.  I am now regrouping and hope to get on with a few bits tomorrow (Sunday) whilst G is out of the way fishing. It is for a change a Sunday match. I will be on my own with the animals for the best part of the day until about 4:00pm.

Now that All Hallowes Eve (Halloween) is out of the way with can really start concentrating on Christmas things.  There are several that I want to get out of the way with during the month of November.  I think it is going to be earlier mornings during this month to attempt to try and get them out of the way with.

Tomorrow though I do hope to do a few things Christmas orientated whilst G is fishing.  Time to play, and some time on my own

Outline Plans for Monday

Moving forward I will then get stuck in again on Monday with a bit of luck on all the items I am trying to achieve.  We have had about three nights this week where not much sleep has been achieved as Missy would not settle.  We have therefore been a bit out of sorts and bleary eyed as a result. Lack of sleep never did sit well with me.  However, I do hope to be able to concentrate on the kitchen and then getting rid of the rest of the washing.  Have made good inroads to this but just a bit more to do.

Outline Plans for Tuesday

I need to go to Waitrose to pick up a few items for Christmas cooking/preparation in advance first thing.  Things that need to be sorted out this week.

I had thought originally about going shopping (well not so much shopping as having a good look around on Sunday). However decided to do this on Tuesday when G will go fishing again.  I will go up to a Trading estate where there are quite a few well-known shops to have a look at what is available.  This is becoming a bit of a yearly ritual for me when I am looking around for things for Christmas and gives me a bit of a well-earned break from the house.

Outline Plans for Wednesday

I need to carry on in the main dining room itself in getting that a bit more sorted out.  I need to get the windows cleaned and polished and new clean net curtain popped up at the window as well.  Also would quite like to get the curtain track up and the curtains up at the window now we are in the winter months.  However I know before doing this that I am going to have to go and purchase some new curtain hooks.  Just want the curtains up to try and keep a bit more warmth in the house.

That is as far as I have planned for this week.  We all know that plans often go awry here, so we shall see how we progress this week.

I hope everyone has a lovely evening.

Catch up soon.

  1. I invested in some blackout curtains this year, for my bedroom, and as they have the heavy lining, that also keeps heat in the room which is good. I managed to find some which I'd liked at Dunelm, but then got remaindered to another company and so I saved about £12 or so on them. I have never bothered with net curtains, but then we have always lived in the middle of nowhere, so no need to stop folk looking in.

    1. Hi BB, I do not particularly like nets, although here because we live in a terrace if I did not have nets, the neighbour would be looking in all the time. Just the nature of the house we live in. I prefer not to have them. The same on the front of the house as well. I have a vintage curtain which I think will be ideal, but I need to measure it up. Failing that will look for new, but only as a last resort. Take care Tricia x
