on our recent holiday was the fact that I did not have the time to sort out what craft stuff I wanted to take.  I also did not have time to retrieve my crafting lamp to take with us and also my magnetic chart board.  I was a bit lost without both as I started a cross stitch kit and ended up stitching and then pulling undone because the ruler I was using kept slipping.  So next holiday these two will most definitely be going.  The project I have started is a picture of a thatched cottage, a dream house as it were, which was one of the last presents that my Nan gave me the money for - which was quite a few years ago so it would be nice to get this done and out of the way with.  Because I kept going wrong I have not worked much, but I am determined to get this one out of the way and put to bed as it were.  Will show you once a little more progress has been made. Or perhaps this should be entitled cooking in a caravan! I am very fortunate in that the kitchen area of the caravan has a hot and cold water tap, decent washing area, and worktop and a fair amount of cupboard storage.  It also has a full size fridge and freezer box which works off either gas or electric. The day started off really well.  Oh cooked me yes ME breakfast and very nice it was too! This was more than enough for me to eat. Mind you I did get most of the washing up to deal with.  Whilst I was doing this OH disappeared outside and was gone for sometime.  Eventually I heard a screech and on investigation found that he had been playing with the pole awning that we had had fitted to the van.  The screech was to do with the fact that it unrolled a lot quicker than he had anticipated and ended up hitting him smack on in the mouth and chipping his front tooth.  He got a bit of a mouthful! I am predominantly talking about my main pantry off of the kitchen which is more of a dry pantry/larder.  Although I have plans to sort out my second pantry area under the stairs in the same way.  This tends to predominantly be my Preserves pantry. I have had for some time all the bits and bobs required for doing up the pantry and I am hopeful that when I get back from our second holiday I will get things sorted out and the actual work completed.  First I had to empty the pantry itself which took quite some doing. I managed to do that before going on our first holiday.  One of the shelves needs putting up as it fell off the wall fortunately not too much was on that particular shelf at the time.  I have some laminate flooring left and I am hoping that there will be enough to sort out the pantry floor and to make it cleaner to manage. OH has agreed to do this one particular little bit for me.  I do have vinyl covering to do the large deep shelves with in gree...

It has been a busy day here in Peterborough and as anticipated the washing machine has been on all day.  This is just dealing with the household laundry and not the clothes.  That will be for tomorrow. I have not had to cook today as OH arranged for a Take Away Kentucky - not that I am keen but the thought was there.  Since then I have been pottering on with writing posts, cleaning, taking the dog for her constitutional, more cleaning and sorting out.  I have missed the computer as I use it extensively however unfortunately I was not able to do anything about this.  Hopefully in the future this will change.  Sometimes you need a break as well to become re-inspired.  I know there are mobile phones and you can do this and that with them - the truth is however I cannot use one properly it is beyond me.  Phones and me are not a good mix.  I have managed to break my new phone as well.  OH is not very happy with me.  I can understand why,...

Despite Tinky-Two passing just before we left for our trip and quite a few late nights getting things prepared and ready for said holiday Saturday morning arrived.   The fun started in the storage facility with OH trying to get the van out of its storage bay which was pretty tight. After several attempts, he managed it. The van after purchase had been placed into the storage bay by the facilitators as at that time the tow bar had not been fitted and they (Pioneer Caravans) had placed it there with the aid of a tractor.  Whilst we had been cleaning and getting the van ready for the holiday it had not been moved;  So really this was the first time he had done anything with this van.  We had predominantly loaded the van in the week apart from our clothes and fresh food items.  However as the storage facility is some five or so miles up the road we took everything we needed with us and then left for holiday straight from storage.  This holiday in particula...

Bless her my lovely puss Tinky Two passed a day before I left for holiday - all happened very quickly and she seemed to be getting better and fighting when suddenly she took a turn for the worse and passed peacefully. Tinky Two was one of Molly's kittens and they say animals do not mourn but Molly, Bumble and Mischief  seem to be missing her quite a lot.  I was so upset I wanted to cancel the holiday but fate intervened on that point. Just a quick pop in as we have returned from our travels to the Lincolnshire Wolds, the area of my birth.  We have had a really chilled out time in a very lovely place Woodhall Spa.  Where we stayed was fantastic and we are most definitely going back again.  This time round though will be taking the step-daughter and her two younger children. Last night was our last day and we had hoped to get out and about but the temperature was 33 degrees in the shade!  There was a fantastic thunder storm later on as well. I did not get much crafting done but more on that tomorrow once I have some of the chores  which go with going on holiday done.  It is going to be very busy for the next few days.  I am just glad I am not a washing machine!
