Sunday Day of Rest

Image
What's that then! Well it has been for me today; this Migraine is still hanging a bit, and making me feel a bit out of sorts.  So listening to my inner voice and just not doing very much.  Will be able to pick myself up better if I listen to what the "Engine" is telling me. It is the "Conductor" that gets in the way by trying to divert me from my main focus! (😍😍I am easily diverted). I have not been able to do any crafting either, with the Migraine; I just have not been able to concentrate.  These things are sent to try us.   I am impatient though for my seeds to strike as I want to get some more set.  That for me is soothing work, gives me time to think and be on my own. Plus it is being true to my personality that of nature/nurture - growing things no matter what the difficulties. The older I am getting I am in search of peace more than anything else and that all starts with me regaining my inner peace and momentum.  Gardening does that for me as y...

Seeds Sown So Far and a little bit of this and that

Image
Sorry about not being around  the past couple of days.  I have had the  most horrendous Migraine, much better than was but still hanging a bit.  I do not think this cold weather is helping either. It has been perishing here in Peterborough today and it has rained quite a bit too.  Wind has been up blowing a Hooley too.  I have been really cold. I need that proper fire! Have therefore not done too much, a bit of pottering here and there which included sowing some seeds (not all). I have sown the following seeds thus far:  Roma Tomatoes and Cayenne Pepper Yellow Courgettes and Venlo Gherkins Yellow Pear Tomatoes and Artichokes Green Cucumber and Pumpkin Cherry Tomatoes I have outline plans for all of them in due course, once harvest is achieved. However, at the moment  am just intent on getting everything started that I can get started, keeping them inhouse until I can get the growing houses up and running.  These winds are not conducive to tha...

Getting Stuff Done Part One

Today has been wet, windy and cold.  Have had to put the heating on for a short while as my fingers were going blue again.  We had sun for a short time this morning, but the rest of the day has been horrid. Last week I popped up a list of things to achieve for the week; and sadly I got "Shanghaied" by other matters so this week I aim to get quite a few of the things out of the way with and what better than a post outlining all those items I have achieved. I had been making notes on the previous post without any kind of report or photos and I therefore thought that this post might serve as double-duty. I need to get motivated and I need to get moving after all Spring is the time when the lighter longer nights appear which gives us more time to focus on items that it is too dark to deal with in the Winter months. A little bit is better than nothing and after all some days are better than others; well they are for me and for many others as well. Lemon and Orange Vinegar Cleaner...

Organisation behind the scenes Part Two Computer Housekeeping Tuesday 11April 2023

I had been gardening and enjoying being outside until yesterday when it rained for most of the day, and I ended up shopping in any event i.e. Wednesday 5 April 2023 and so I ended  up doing some more housekeeping on the Inbox.  I have had to spend two days on deleting emails from the Inbox as my email and One Cloud feature stopped working.  Fortunately I had dealt with a lot of rubbish before this (it was much worse) and by concentrating on one segment of it and adding the minimum extra storage, things now seem to be functioning again on the email front and the One Cloud Front. The email boxes are now officially empty. There is still a heck of a lot of progress to be made though on sorting out of files and my craft stuff.  However the next segment is going to be all my photos.  However, I am chuffed to bits I have got this far on what seemed like a never-ending mission. I do not give in easily, however at the start I was severely overwhelmed when I started deali...

Lazy Day

Just chilling and pottering around doing a little bit here and there but nothing substantial.  As planned just a low key day.  I was tired in any event and tea had already been cooked yesterday; there was therefore nothing too strenuous on that front either. We had a repeat of yesterday's meal. I did prep up for OH to eat at his leisure some Chicken Wings in a Piri-Piri sauce.  I do not like Piri-Piri so this is just for him in any event. Am looking forward to seeing the second part of the Agatha Christie "Why didn't they ask Evans" that started last night in a little while.  A very different take on the storyline thus far. Back to the grind tomorrow Has been a wet, cooler and windy day here in Peterborough.  I think rain is forecast on and off for the rest of the week, so it does not look as though I am getting into the garden.  If that is the case it is into the kitchen for me tomorrow to get that back into some semblance of order.  I am so glad I go...

Easter Sunday

Image
Here in Peterborough, the Sun has been out and there is a breeze which I have found a little chilly still, but still a glorious day. Have had a relatively lazy day here today although washing has been hung out and dried.  We have had a very delicious Easter Dinner, a Leg of Lamb studded with garlic and sprinkled with homemade Rosemary salt.  Cooked over a little water to create the gravy for later on with some mixed herbs and white pepper.  This does double duty as it helps to keep the Lamb moist, covered in a tent of foil until about 40 minutes from the end of cooking and forms the basis for the gravy. Served with Roast potatoes, roast parsnip, and onion. Have also prepared petit-Pois, carrots, Broccoli, cauliflower, mashed potato.  Has gone down very nicely and well worth the wait  Plenty of meat left for either having a duplicate meal or indeed making a Posh Shepherd's Pie using up any veggie leftovers as well as Lamb.  Makes a very delicious and tasty m...
